Chimney inspection
Chimney sweepers from Ekodim are professionally and technologically trained to perform all types of chimney inspections. Depending on the use of chimneys and fireboxes, we apply several levels of inspection.
First inspection is for newly built chimneys
In newly built facilities, each chimney must be inspected before connecting the device. The inspection includes control of all elementary characteristics of the chimney and ascertains compliance with applicable regulations, technical norms and standards. After the inspection, we issue a Certificate on the correctness of the chimney.
Regular inspection, during regular use of chimneys and fireboxes
We apply this level of inspection if there have been no changes to the firebox and chimney since the previous inspection (e.g. if no other device was connected to the chimney) and if the client does not intend to make any changes during use. In this case, we perform a visual inspection of accessible parts of chimneys and fireboxes using the basic chimney tool. Easily accessible parts of the chimney on the outside and inside are checked, and the connection between the firebox and the chimney is checked. During this inspection, the chimney sweeper checks for the presence of flammable deposits on the chimney walls.
Extraordinary inspection, due to the occurrence of any changes
This type of inspection is applied in the following cases:
- If there are some changes in the chimney due to external influences, e.g. if some foreign objects were found in it
- After the action of force majeure that could cause structural damage to the chimney
- If there were changes in the immediate environment of the chimney which may adversely affect its effect
- When changing the firebox or type of fuel (firewood)
- Before connecting new devices to existing chimney
This inspection includes all activities from the Regular Inspection with a more detailed review of certain elements of the inspection, depending on the type of change that has occurred. Extraordinary inspection is performed, besides the basic chimney tool, also with devices for visual inspection (digital camera for recording the inside of the chimney) or devices for measuring drafts, if necessary.
After performing any of the above mentioned types of inspection, Ekodim issues a Minutes or a Certificate on the correctness of the chimney.
